From Italy With Love

FREDDY has been specialising in sportswear since 1976.  It encompasses everything one loves about the Italian culture in the World of fashion. Sophisticated and chic with an innovative twist.  In 2012, FREDDY launched it's patented WR.UP® technology. This technology sets it apart from anything you've ever worn before. Thanks to strategic seams and tailoring devices, WR.UP® technology supports and reshapes the hips, buttocks and thigh area, enhancing them in a totally natural way. FREDDY has completely revolutionised the concept of jeans and pants - guaranteeing a perfect fit every time.

1975-1985

FREDDY was founded in 1976, from an idea by Carlo Freddi, as a company specializing in the production, marketing, and sale of rhythmic gymnastics shoes and classical ballet demi-pointe shoes.

1986-1995

During the 1980s aerobics boom, Freddy redefined fitness by turning gyms into spaces for female expression. Through iconic style and key athletic partnerships, the brand became a global benchmark for the movement revolution in dance and fitness.

1996-2007

Freddy expanded its prestige through major partnerships, becoming a long-term sponsor of the Italian Gymnastics Federation and the official supplier for Milan’s Teatro alla Scala. In 2004, the brand bridged sport and art by launching the Dance Academy line, fronted by world-renowned flamenco dancer Joaquín Cortés.

2008-2012

For the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, Freddy became the official sponsor and supplier of the Italian Olympic team. The athletes of the Italian Olympic team also wore Freddy-made garments during the 2009 Mediterranean Games in Pescara and the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, as well as FGI uniforms during the 2012 London Olympics.

2013-2015

In 2013, the iconic WR.UP® was born , the most imitated shaping trousers in the world, the only patented original . Thanks to strategically placed seams and inserts, the Italian research that created the Patented WR.UP® Technology achieved immediate success and marked the brand's entry into the US market.

2015-2020

WRUP achieved global success in 48 countries alongside the dual-cushioned Feline shoe and the eco-friendly 100% MADE IN ITALY line, which debuted sustainable BIO DIWO® fabric. By 2020, the brand launched FREDDY ENERGY, featuring performance-enhancing pants designed to boost athletic harmony and well-being.

2021-2026

In 2022, Freddy intensified its eco-commitment by transitioning WR.UP® to organic cotton and recycled materials. The innovation continued into 2024 with the debut of SEAMLESS and WR.UP® CORE, lines engineered for ultimate freedom of movement through advanced shaping fabrics.
